Hlaingbwe, 23 June
A ceremony to launch a multi-purpose hall built with contribution under the Village Development Fund (VDP) and donation made by local people took place in Kotwun Village, Hlaingbwe Township in Kayin State this morning.
On the occasion, the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Khin Cho, Deputy Director of the Department of Rural Development U Kyaw Hsan Htay, an official from the DRD and a village-tract administrator opened the hall and sprinkled scented water on it. Next, they viewed round inside the hall. The new hall is 50 ft. long, 30 ft. wide and 15 ft. high.
It was built at a cost of Ks 27.3 million financed by the VDP and contributed by local people. Construction of the hall began on 10 March.—Nyein Thu (Salin)
