The Sagaing Region Fisheries Department plans to release over 300,000 fingerlings into 610 acres of monsoon paddy fields in eight townships in the region in the rainy season.
“We plan to implement mixed farming of fish and paddy in eight townships during this monsoon season. Fingerlings from YeU, Shwebo, and Ingyingone hatcheries will be released in paddy fields,” said U Tun Tun Win, the head of the Sagaing Region Fisheries Department.
The department will release 32500 fingerling into 65 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Kawlin Township, 30000 fingerling into 60 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Htigyaing Township, 60000 fingerling into 120 acres of monsoon paddy fields in YeU Township, 5000 fingerlings into 10 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Taze Township, 25000 fingerling into 50 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Debayin Township, 0.300 lakh fingerlings into 60 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Wetlet Township, 32500 fingerlings into 65 acres of monsoon paddy fields in KhinU Township, and 90000 ingerling into 180 acres of monsoon paddy fields in Shwebo Township this year.—Win Oo (Zayardine)
