GOVERNMENT officials, teachers and students made a test run of the Tachilek Children’s Literary Festival before it opens today at B.E.H.S. Tachilek in Maka Ho Khem Ward yesterday.

The festival is jointly organized by the Information and Public Relations Department, Basic Education Department and the Tachilek District Management Committee.

Shan State Minister for Bamar Ethnic Affairs, Dr. Aung Than Maung, IPRD and departmental officials and teachers and students involved in the festival inspected the exhibition booths installed and practiced their routines.

The Tachilek Children’s Literary Festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow. The festival will include numerous entertainment programmes, educational booths, competitions for poetry, storytelling, impromptu speaking, painting, origami, puzzle assembly, teamwork, timed shoe wearing and other games, literary seminars and roundtables.
