A fire drill was conducted in conjunction with a knowledge sharing event about the natural disaster at the township sports grounds in Shwebo, Sagaing Region this morning.

At first, the commander of the Sagaing Region Fire Services Department U Min San Aye gave a speech and Assistant Director of the Shwebo fire brigade U Aye Myint disseminated knowledge about the risks of fire. Next, firefighters explained fire safety measures and demonstrated how to use fire extinguishers when a fire breaks out in the area. Afterwards, demonstrated how to use fire extinguishers and conducted the first aid drill by using fire engines, water tankers and fire extinguishers.

Then a rescue and evacuation was orchestrated by firefighters in joining hands with students at No.15 primary school.  More than 500 residents were involved in the activities.—Moe Thauk
