The closing of a bamboo handicraft course was held at a monastery in Hsinkyun Village, Madaya Township in Mandalay Region on 2 July.

The vocational training course was conducted by the Small Scale Industry Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. Outstanding trainees were awarded the prizes by the regional lawmaker, an official from the Small Scale Industry Department and the deputy township administrator. Next, the SSID official presented completion certificates to the trainees.

Two course instructors from the SSID gave training on making nine items based on bamboo to 20 trainees during two-week course as well provided ten kinds of equipment necessary for making bamboo handicrafts. Visitors at home and abroad visit the village which is located in the Ayeyawady River to observe bamboo handicraft industry and Ayeyawady dolphins.
