Lahae, 10 July
A total of 13 people from two households were evacuated due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in extension ward-1 in the town of Lahae in Naga self-administered area in Sagaing region yesterday morning, according to U Myo Nyi Nyi, chairman of the Township Management Committee.
It has been raining heavily since 8 July and in the morning of July 9 landslides occurred near the two houses due to erosion of waste water outlets. So, 13 people in the two houses were evacuated to a temporary rescue camp being opened in the office of Talan ward administrator, it is learnt.—Win Oo ( Zayar Tine)
