Yedashe, 22 July
One woman has died and 46 others were slightly injured in a traffic accident on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Yedashe Township, Bago Region on 21 July.
A passenger bus overturned after hitting concrete median strips as the driver lost control of the vehicle. The passenger bus with 54 people aboard was heading to Yangon from Nay Pyi Taw and was driven by a man named Nyi Nyi Aung, 28 years old. One woman identified as Ma The The Ei, 26 years of age was pronounced dead on the spot and 46 others were hurt in the incident.
The accident occurred near milepost 165/3 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Yedashe Township at about 3 p.m. on 21 July. The bus driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the traffic police.—MOHA
