Myingyan, 22 July

A book fair was opened in the compound of the Information and Public Relations Department in Myingyan, Mandalay Region this morning.

The book sale festival was launched by Deputy Commissioner U Tint Hlaing, Township Administrator U Nyi Nyi Aung, the deputy township administrators and a patron of local book clubs by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. They then took an opportunity to pose for a documentary photo and viewed round the book shops. The book fair is crowded with visitors and sells various books ranging from knowledgeable books to fictions with reasonable prices.  

The event was also attended by departmental staff, teachers, students, local writers, members of the district women’s affairs committee and bookworms.—U Zaw Min Naing
