Mongtong, July 25  

A ceremony to release fingerlings into Namtom creek in Mongtong township in Shan state (east) was held yesterday afternoon. 

The event was conducted as part of efforts to conserve the environment and to prevent fish species from extinction. At the event, military personnel led by Col Aung Naing Oo from local battalion released a total of 60000 fingerlings worth K 3 million into Namtom creek near the town park.

 A total of 100 military personnel participated in the event, it ls learnt.—Township IPRD
