The United States and China are set to hold trade talks for the first time in more than two months.
The ministerial-level talks will begin on Tuesday. The meeting was arranged after US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed last month to revive the stalled talks.
US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will represent the US at the two-day meeting in Shanghai.
Vice Premier Liu He will represent China.Beijing is expected to highlight recent developments on the Chinese side.
China's state-run media reported on Sunday that Chinese companies have bought several million tons of US soybeans.
China is also reportedly working to import more pork and wheat from the US.Beijing apparently wants the US to ease restrictions on China's Huawei Technologies.But the US is wary of the Chinese tech giant.
