THE North (C) team won the MPT U-14 Football Tournament 2019 yesterday after beating the West (C) team with a 1-0 score in the final match, held at the Yangon United Sports Complex, according to the Myanmar National League website.
The lone and winning goal for North (C) was scored by Wai Yan Phyo. Meanwhile, in the match for the third place in the tournament, North (B) defeated East (A) with a 4-0 score. An award presentation ceremony was held at the ground after the final match.
At the ceremony, U Pye Phyo Tay Za, the vice president of the Myanmar Football Federation, presented gifts to referees who took part in the final match.
Tam Shwae from North (B) received the award for the best forward player, Hlaing Htut from East (A) was declared the best midfielder, Sithu Khant from West (C) took the best defender award, and Ye Wunna Tun from North (C) obtained the best goalkeeper award.
Thet Paing Phyo from North (C) was declared the top scorer and the best player, while the East (A) team was given the award for the best fair play.
Meanwhile, MFF general secretary U KoKoThein presented individual medals to the third-placed team North (B). The team also received a cash prize of K300,000 from U Kyaw Zeya Tin, National Business Development Manager, Myanmar Brewery Limited.
U Aung Kyaw Oo, the Director-General (Planning/Finance) of the Basic Education Department, Yangon Region, presented individual medals to the runner-up team — West (C), while MFF chief administrative officer U SuuAung handed them a cash prize of K500,000.
Mr. Yoshiaki Bennio, COO, MPT-KSGM JO presented individual medals and a cash prize of K1 million to the champions, the North (C) team.
