With the aim of creating job opportunities for rural people and helping their income increase, a carpentry training course was opened at the office of the Department of Rural Development in Zigon Township, Bago Region on 7 August.

Speaking on the occasion, U Than Lwin, the staff officer of the DRD said that the vocational training course aims at promoting socioeconomic status of rural people, thereby creating better job opportunities for them. He also urged the trainees to try their best as the course can contribute them to increase their income. 

The 15-day training course is being attended by 20 trainees from seven village-tracts throughout the township.—Tint Swe (Zigon)
