A coordination meeting on distribution of modified stoves was jointly held by Zeegon Township Agricultural Department and Korea Climate Change Center in Zeegon Township, Bago region yesterday.
At the ceremony, Township Administrator gave remarks and an official from the Agricultural Department clarified the modified stoves distribution project and the usefulness of the stoves. In addition, he also explained that using modified stoves can help reduce the consumption of firewood and prevent the deforestation. As well, modified stoves can produce positive effects on environment and climate. Then, the officials responded to the queries raised by the attendees concerning stoves.
The Township Agricultural Department is making arrangements for distribution of modified stoves free of charge to 27 village-tracts which have not access to electricity. The use of stoves can lessen deforestation and the transmission of carbon. Therefore, using the stoves can conserve environment and prevent climate change.
