Torrential downpours and flash flood that occurred in Paung Townhsip, Mon State forced patients in a station hospital to move to safety places this morning.
Due to flood, a total of 31 patients who were admitted to Mottama Station Hospital in Paung Township, Mon State were evacuated to Nan-U monastery.
In addition, Yangon-Mawlamyine route in Mottama was inundated by flood. Therefore, the traffic on Thanlwin Bridge was temporarily suspended, according to local residents.
Township Administrator U Zaw Moe Aung and departmental personnel, social organizations, military personnel and local residents help the locals and patients who are experiencing deluge of water to evacuate to safety places.
On the same day, Mawlamyine, Paung, Ye, Thanbyuzayat, Kyaikmaraw, Mudon and other townships are experiencing inundation of flood. Accordingly, the officials and social organizations made emergency operations to help the flood victims.
This year the deluge of water in Mon State is worse than previous year, according to social organization from Mawlamyine.
