Taninthayi Region Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Myint San together with Township Administrator U Kan Htoo and departmental staff met with local people in Kyaukwutpyin Village, Launglon Township on 11 August.

The regional minister and his party then inspected establishment of a relief camp in the village’s monastery and provision of healthcare services to locals. Next, they went to another village by boats to encourage the flood victims and presented rice and foodstuff provided by the local government to them. They also proceeded to a road section where a landslide occurred and looked onto clearance of debris with the use of two tractors by the Agricultural mechanization Department.

Afterwards, they handed over rice bags donated by the local government and the Department of Disaster Management to the flood victims through village-administrators.—IPRD
