Hpa-an, 15 August

Five people were killed after a boat capsized in a fishing lake in Laythargon Village, Hpa-an Township in Kayin State on 14 August.

The tragic incident took place at about 11:30 a.m. on 14 August and the victims were going to another location to pluck the flowers for a traditional festival. Policemen from a nearby police station rushed to the scene of incident and found that a boat capsized in a 10 ft. deep fishing lake.

Five people who died in the incident are identified as Saw Pan Aung, 12 yrs, Ma Nandar Thein, 17 yrs, Ma Nandar Hlaing, 17 yars, Saw Myint Naing, 8 yrs, and Saw Yan Kyaw Soe, 8 yrs from Laythargon Village.—Nay Myo Lwin (IPRD)
