A ceremony to provide financial aid to flood victims in Bago Region, organized by judicial staff led by Bago Region Chief Judge U Maung Maung Swe, was held at the reception room of Bago Region Chief Minister yesterday.

At the event, Bago Region Chief Judge U Maung Maung Swe handed over K 1.2 million to Bago Region Chief Minister U Win Thein.

Kayin Ethnic Affairs Minister Naw Pwe Se and Deputy Director U Aung Swe from Bago Region Government also provided over 300 bags of rice and K 10.0 million to flood victims in Mon State on 12 August. The relief items were accepted by officials from Mon State Government.

Similarly, officials from Bago Region Government met with 28 landslide victims at Mawlamyine People’s Hospital and presented K 25000 each to them. Bago Region Government also donated 100 bags of rice to flood victims in Kayin State, it is learnt.—Tin Soe (Bago)
