Vice President U Henry Van Thio who was in Mandalay, inspected a 225 MW natural gas and waste heat power station, a 90 MW natural gas power station and No. 1 Steel Factory in Myingyan Township.

Vice President U Henry Van Thio accompanied by Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy Dr Tun Naing, Region minister U Zarni Aung and officials arrived at the Sembcorp Myingyan Power Co., Ltd’s 225 MW natural gas and waste heat power station 9 miles southeast of Myingyan Town in the afternoon and observed a video clip on particulars about the power station, electricity generation and distribution, in the power station meeting hall.

 


Next factory safety manager U Tin Maung Thein explained about the status of protecting the natural environment and Deputy Minister Dr Tun Naing provided additional explanations.

 


Afterwards the Vice President inspected and observed the distribution of electricity from the power station control room where Deputy Minister Dr Tun Naing and Deputy Factory Manager Yaza Myo Thein provided explanations.

 


The Vice President then inspected the factory compound by car.

 


From there the Vice President and party went to V Power Group Hodling Limited and Zeya & Associates Co. Ltd.’s 90 MW natural gas power station where an official explained about the power station particulars and status of electricity distribution. Deputy Minister Dr Tun Naing and Zeya & Associates Co., Ltd. Chairman U Zeya Thiri Mon provided additional explanations.

 


Following the explanations, the Vice President went to the power station control room to observe the distribution of electricity and then inspected the power station.

 


Both power stations were running with Shwe Offshore natural gas and the electricity generated were fed into the natural grid.

 


Later, the Vice President and party went and inspected No. 1 Steel Factory (Myingyan) where acting factory manager U Tun Tun explained about the factory.

 


After the inspection, the Vice President and party were explained about the factory, availability of electricity, natural gas and water for Phase-1, fiscal year wise production and sale, works required to restart Steel Making Plant-1, direct raw material wise balance in hand, works required to restart Steel Making Plant-2 in Phase-2, completion status of constructing Direct Reduction Plant, products to be produced after Phase-3 and status of machinery and parts arrival, status of storing packages in storage area and status of obtaining funding were explained by No. 1 Heavy Industries Enterprise Managing Director U Kan Chun.

 


With regards to the explanations made the Vice President raised questions on matters of interests.
