Severe rains hit the area since the first week of August. The wooden bridge is 30 ft. long, 12 ft. wide and was built at a cost of Ks. 250,000, said U Soe Naing Lin, the village-tract administrator. The bridge collapse has led to a difficult situation for students and residents who traverse the bridge on a daily basis. To solve the problem, a temporary bridge was built near the old one to be used by motorcyclists and pedestrians.

The collapsed bridge links Taku and Tharabwin Village-tracts via Mayingyi, Banlaw and Yepaw village in the township.—Nan Thar Yi-Htein Win
