Kyainn-Seikkyi 20 August

In an attempt to ensure safety of students, 91 schools throughout Kyainn-Seikkyi Township in Kayin State have been closed temporarily due to floods since early this month.

The area was seriously hit by flooding as a consequence of incessant severe rains beginning the first week of August and some schools were closed to be used as temporary rescue camps for flood victims. Now all closed schools in the township were reopened as floodwaters receded and the students are studying theirs lessons peacefully.—Myo Min Oo (IPRD)
