AA landmine attack killed two police personnel and wounded three more as well as damaging 3 police vehicles.

The incident occurred near Pat Kwet Village and Pyine Taw Village between Kyauktaw and Ponnagyun towns in Rakhine State yesterday morning.

A column and a company led by a police major were returning to Sittway by police vehicle on Yangon-Sittway Union Highway after conducting rule of law and security operations MraukU Town, in Rakhine State. 

Near Pat Kwet Village and Pyine Taw Village about 16 miles away from Ponnagyun Town, the vehicles were hit by an AA landmine attack. 

The attack killed a police officer and police personnel, wounded three police personnel and damaged three police vehicles. 

Tatmadaw columns were clearing the area around the place where the landmine attack occurred. — MNA
