An awareness talk about earthquake was held in the compound of a high school in Shanywa Village, Laymyethna Township in Ayeyawady Region yesterday morningin conjunction with a disaster drill.

Officials from the Department of Fire Services then elaborated on holding disaster drills, explained the aims of the awareness talk, discussed preventative measures and responses if a natural disaster occurs and disseminated knowledge about the risks of earthquakes.

The departmental staff, policemen, firefighters, volunteers, local authorities and residents were also involved in the earthquake drill.—Shwe Moe Lay
