There are signs the US and China may be softening their stances in the trade dispute.
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would consider a tentative trade agreement with China.
He said he would rather have a comprehensive deal but would consider an interim one.
In another sign that tensions may be easing, China earlier suggested it was preparing to resume its US agricultural imports.
The commerce ministry said Chinese companies are inquiring about prices of US soybeans and pork.
The disclosure came out shortly after the US announced it will delay additional tariff hikes on Chinese goods.
