Kachin State Government provided food aid to displaced people taking refuge in IDP camps in St. Paul Church in Lawar village, Kamine town, Phakant township, Kachin state yesterday afternoon.
Kachin State Minister for Social Affairs U Nay Win cordially met with displaced people in the camp and expressed encouraging words to them. Then, head of the State Disaster Management Department Daw Hla Kathy Mar explained food aid programs.
Then, the State Minister and the official furnished displaced people in Lawar IDP camp with 63 bags of rice, 92 viss each of edible oil and chick pea and 46 viss of salt worth K 2.517 million. The foods provided were for one month consumption of the displaced people in the camp. There are 46 households and 202 people in the camp. U Jar Tu, person in charge of the camp expressed works of thank for the donation.
