No casualties were reported after strong winds blew through some villages in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region yesterday evening, according to a source from an official of the Fire Services Department.
The gusty winds led to the fall of a big tree measuring 30 ft. high and 4 ft. in circumference on a building of a basic education high school in Paukkan Village, some 12 miles northwest of Wetlet. Township level authorities, firefighters and members of local social organizations rushed to storm affected areas to clear wreckage.
The roofs and ceilings from three rooms were damaged by the tree-fall. No one was injured in the incident but the estimated loss of property due to the incident is about Ks. 2.5 million.
