A vocational training course on making value-added food was conducted in Nyaungkan Village, Badalin Township, Sagaing Region on 21-22 September.

The vocational training course was jointly conducted by the Department of Rural Development Small Scale Industry Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation with the aim of creating job opportunities for rural people and increasing their income under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Programme.

The course instructors from the SSID are giving practical and theoretical training on making different food such as cake, cookie, fried crispy onions, jams, juice, sandwiches, sauce and jelly by using teaching aid materials. The 2-day training course is being attended by 45 trainees throughout the township.—IPRD
