International day of older person was marked at the meeting hall of General Administration Department in Rikhawdar, Chin State yesterday morning.

First of all, Rev. U Lal Hming Liana said prayers and gave blessing for elderly people in the town. Then, the town Administrator U Cin Lam Khaing gave an opening speech and U Chan Liana of ward-1 Administrator clarified the purpose of International Day of older person.

This was followed by the presentation of gifts to 60 elderly people above 75 years old in the town by officials. Afterwards, U Baw Lian Vel spoke words of thanks on behalf of elderly people.

Next, medical staff from Rikhawdar Station Hospital provided free medical check-ups and necessary medicines to them.

Also present on the occasion were departmental staff, members of the town Development Affairs Committee, Women’s Affairs Association, Maternal and Child Welfare Association, community leaders and elderly people.
