Hopone, 4 October

         

An agriculture and livestock breeding course was concluded in Sansoat village in Hopone Township, Pa-O self-administered Zone in southern Shan state yesterday.

 

The course was organized by the Township Rural Development Department with the aim of promoting agriculture and livestock breeding sector which is the mainstay of the country’s economy.

 

A total of 20 trainees from four villages in Tilon village-tract attended the three-day course taught by eight instructors.

 

The course focused on ways of boosting crop yields per acre, infectious diseases common in water buffalos and oxen, ways to repel insects, curing farm animals with traditional medicines.

 

The course also covered all aspects of growing various kinds of pulse and bean and vegetable, basic fish-farming methods.—Khun Ye Htwe (His Hseng)
