Police took down a man wielding a sword and making threats to local people in Kayan Township, Yangon Region on Monday night with bullets, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The sword holding man was identified as Min Zaw, 42 years old from Nalusu Village, Kayan Township. Policemen from the Myoma police station together eye witnesses went to the scene and persuaded the man to surrender his weapon. The sword wielding man attempted to attack the police squad with a 9 inch long sword. So the police fired one shot at the man and he received minor injuries from the gunshots.
The man was sent to the Yangon General Hospital for medical treatment and is being questioned over murder attempts by the local police.
