A 12-wheeled truck caught fire on the Ann-Minbu Road in Ann Township, Rakhine State on 7 October, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The accident took place at milepost 96/1 on the Ann-Mibu Township near Pelpadon Village at about 2:30 p.m. on 7 October. A 12-wheeld truck on the way to Sittwe from Mandalay caught fire which is believed to have started from an overheated wire cable. No casualties were reported in the fire but the flame destroyed the back part of the vehicle and foodstuff inside the car.

The truck driver identified as Saw Lin, 38 years old is being questioned over fire negligence by the local police.
