Nyaungdon, 15 October


One woman was killed and five others injured after a trawlergy overturned in Nyaungdon Township, Ayeyawady Region.


A trawlergy on the way to Pathein from Yangon with six people aboard flipped over between mileposts 40/2 and 40/3 on the Yangon-Pathein Road at around 6:05 a.m. on 13 October after the driver identified as Kyaw Htet Aung, 39 years old lost control of the t. A woman named Daw Than Than Hsint has died on the spot and five people were injured in the incident.


Among the injured people, two people were hurt seriously and have been sent to a public hospital in Nyaungdon. Action is being taken against the driver over reckless driving by the local police.
