Officials from the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI) and H. E. Saurabh Kumar, the Indian ambassador to Myanmar, discussed matters related to economic cooperation and promotion of trade on Tuesday at the MRCCI office in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay.
The discussion highlighted the economic cooperation between India-Myanmar businesses and closer interaction among businessmen. The MRCCI officials also invited Indian entrepreneurs to invest in Mandalay’s manufacturing businesses.
Mandalay Region is the main bean supplier in Indian markets. Therefore, the MRCCI asked the ambassador to forward their request to raise Indian imports of Myanmar beans and pulses.
Myanmar is importing raw materials for garments, textiles, and traditional loom businesses from India. Therefore, the MRCCI called for technical assistance and smooth and quick trade. This was followed by a friendly discussion with MRCCI associates engaged in garment and loom businesses.
Afterwards, the members exchanged commemorative presents. Later, a delegation led by the Indian ambassador left for the Mandalay commodity depot and met with the president and vice president of the Mandalay Merchants Association and executive members, and observed the pulses trade.
