A car belonged to U Thura Kyaw caught fire at about 9:21 pm on Katha - Tigyaing Road in Tonepaw village tract, Katha Township, Sagaing Region yesterday.

Firefighters from the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the scene to put out the car fire using one fire engine. The fire was totally extinguished at about 9:45 pm.

No causalities were reported in the fire. The cause of the fire was believed to be an electric shock in the car.

Authorities filed a case against U Thura Kyaw for his negligence, it is learnt.—Naing Lin Htet, IPRD
