Kawthoung, 9 November
A total of 110 Myanmar migrant workers including 95 men, 13 women and two children were sent back from Thailand through the Kawthoung border gate yesterday evening for not holding proper documentation.
Thai authority brought the Myanmar migrant workers to Kawthoung via sea route and handed them over to the authorities in Kawthoung.
The Thai government had arrested them as they did not have work permits, and were found holding expired border passes.
Also present on the occasion were personnel from Kawthoung District General Administration Department, the Labor Department, the Anti-human Trafficking Police Force, the Disaster Management Department and others.
The returnee workers are sent to their places of origin after being provided with health care.— Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)
