A ceremony to pay respects to elderly people above 80 years old, organized by Myetta Philanthropic Group, was held at Mya saydi Pagoda in the town of Katha, Sagaing Region yesterday. The donation of cash and gifts for elderly people is the seventh of its kind in the town.
At the event, Chairman of Myetta Philanthropic Group U Kaung delivered an opening speech and Maung Bo, Lieutenant colonel (retired) from Katha District Association in Mandalay explained the purpose of the donation of cash, rice, cloths and medicines for senior citizens.
Philanthropists from Myetta Group donated K 66900 each, rice, clothes and medical items to elderly people in the town of Katha. Donors will also pay domiciliary visit to provide cash assistance and others to elderly people who cannot attend the ceremony.
