Yangon, November 13

A ceremony to open 2019 regions and states tennis tournament was held at Theinphyu tennis court in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon this morning.

 Present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Director Generals U Kyaw San and U Kyaw Oo of Sports and Physical Education Department, Principal U Soe Aung of Sports and Physical Education Institute (Yangon), U Aung Moe, director of Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Department, President U Than Lwin of Myanmar Tennis Federation, invited guests, coaches and athletes of tennis teams from regions and states. 

First, Deputy Director General U Kyaw Oo made an opening remark. Then, together with the president of MTF, he offered a friendly greeting to tennis teams and encouraged them. At the tournament, a total of 122 tennis players forming 13 teams will be competing in the seven events- men’s team competition, women’s team competition, Men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. 

The events will continue till 18th November from 8 am to 4 pm every day.—Sports (Ygn)
