At least 16 people were injured in a car accident involving two passenger buses on Yangon-Mandalay expressway near Leway Township this early morning.

The accident happened when a passenger bus named Minthitsa hit the left side of the rare part of another passenger bus named Shwezin Satkya that abruptly stopped on the inside lane. The two buses moving in the same direction were damaged in the accident. At least 16 people- three from Shwezin Satkya passenger bus and 13 from Minthitsa passenger bus- were injured in the incident.

Highway police brought charges against the two drivers for careless driving.—Ko Lwin (Swa)
