Police members from Kawthoung Anti-Drug Squad-34 searched a motorcycle driven by Kyaw Htet Maung with Aung Paing on board on Htaungkhamat Road in Bokpyin Township in Taninthayi Region on 13 November and seized 1970 stimulant tablets and two mobile phones from them.


In a similar incident, policemen from Keng Tung Anti-Drug Squad-28 raided the house of A Za in Pankwe Village, Keng Tung Township and confiscated 170 stimulant tablets and raw opium weighing 16 grams. As a result of investigation, authorities seized 1800 stimulant tablets, raw opium weighing 80 grams and K 175000 in the hut of A Ya from Ho Kyin Village.


Similarly, a combined team comprising security force raided the house of Law Htoo (a) Law Hu in Pala Village in Tachilek Township on 12 November and seized raw opium weighing 5.3 kilograms and a pistol in the house.


The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
