THE Myanmar women’s national football team beat the Chinese Taipei team 1-0 in an interna-tional friendly match yesterday on the Bahan artificial turf in Yangon.
The win rested on the lone goal scored in the match by star player Khin Moe Wai, who netted the ball early in the first half.
Both teams used their most reliable players from the kickoff.
Soon, it became evident that the teams were evenly matched, and the contest turned into a thriller. Though the match was a friendly one, the two teams pulled out all stops to show their abilities in front of fans.
There were goal chances in the early minutes of the game, but efforts to convert them were blunted as the defensive lines of both teams remained strong.
Myanmar managed the first and winning goal of the match at 20 minutes by taking advantage of a misunderstanding in the Chi-nese Taipei defense line. The goal for team Myanmar was scored by veteran player Khin Moe Wai.
Myanmar players remained strong in the second half with good tackling and delivery.
As Myanmar shifted to de-fense mode plus attack, Chinese Taipei players found it hard to convert scoring opportunities.
