Minhla, 21 November
The opening ceremony of a rice-drying machine built by the Agricultural Mechanization Department was held in Minhla Township, Bago Region this morning.
At the ceremony, Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein opened the rice-drying machine by pressing a button and heard systematic use of the facility reported by the officials from the AMD. The Chinese-made machine was purchased at a cost of Ks. 35 million and became the first of its kind in Bago Region. It can dry up to 400 paddy baskets per hour and helps the farmers protect the risks of damaging the paddy at the least level.
Next, the chief minister and his entourage inspected the completion of a new township administrator’s office. Among the attendees were Bago Region Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irigation U Aung Zaw Naing, departmental staff and local people.—Tin Soe (Bago)
