Fire broke out in the house owned by U Aik Tun (a) U Paw Yone in Myoma Ward in Mantong, Palaung Self-Administered Zone in Shan State at around 8:15 pm yesterday night.

The fire was thought to have started from an electric short circuit installed in the house.

Firemen from the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the scene to fight the fire with the use of a fire engine in cooperation with locals and the blaze was successfully extinguished at around 8:45 pm. 

Fire damaged the house. But no injuries were reported.—Si Thu Maung Maung, IPRD
