Mawlamyinegyun 3 December

One man was injured and one child went missing in a head-on collision between two boats in Mawlamyinegyun Township, Ayeyawady Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.

The accident took place in the Kyunkema Creek near Kyunkhema Village in Mawlamyinegyun Township at about 6 p.m. on 1 December. A boat operated by a man named Soe Min Naing (alias) Maung Soe, 33 years old with his five-year old son and wife Ma Phan Ei Phyu, 35 years old collided with another boat coming from an opposite direction in the creek.

The boat operator received minor injuries to his right hands, waist, and breast and his son went missing in the incident. A search and rescue operation for the missing child is ongoing by local authorities.—MOHA
