A tuberculosis diagnosis mobile team from the Kayin State Department of Anti-tuberculosis and local people jointly made a field trip to conduct tuberculosis checks on local people in Kyekadawt village-tract, Leiktho, Thandaunggyi Township, Kayin State on 12 December.

 

A responsible person from the team Dr. Zeyar Oo explained the purpose of the field trip and shared knowledge on personal hygiene. Next, a Deputy Director from the Department of Anti-tuberculosis Dr. San Hla Phyu explained the spread of TB disease and Multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and medical treatment for TB disease.

 

A total of 495 local residents in 13 villages were provided medical check-up and 26 TB suspects were also found in the village. Similarly, a total of 464 local people who resided in Hnakpyawtaw village-tract and nearby villages were also provided medical check-up and 16 TB suspects were given medical treatment.
