Police seized alleged Illegal raw jade stones in a search operation in Phakant Township, Kachin State on 24 December.

Under the close supervision of the head of the township police force, a joint squad stopped a vehicle on Phakant-Whaykhar Road in Phakant Township at about 5:30 p.m. on 24 December based on an anonymous tipoff. The police force discovered 420 polythene bags holding different sizes of uncut jade stones in the vehicle.

The driver identified as Soe Moe (alias) Kyaw Soe Moe, 45 years old has been charged under the Myanmar Gemstone Law by the local police.—MOHA
