One person was killed in a head-on collision between two boats in Mawlamyinegyun Township, Ayeyawady Region on 25 January.
    

The accident took place when a boat operated by Tint Naing Win, 36 years old collided with another boat coming from opposite direction driven by Tun Tun Naing, 43, in a creek near Yedagar Village in Mawlamyinegyun Township at about 11:20 a.m. on 25 January. One boat operator identified as Tun Tun Naing was pronounced dead on arrival at a rural hospital in the incident.

Both boat operators are being questioned by the local police over reckless driving.—MOHA
