An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Pyu Township, Bago Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Sunday.
    

The fatal fire broke out in the kitchen of a house when a 72-year old woman was cooking rice at about 9:30 p.m. on 14 March. The fire torched the house and ceased 30 minutes later. The woman died of burn injuries in the fire and her corpse was sent to a public hospital for autopsy.
    

An action is being taken against the deceased woman by the local police over fire negligence.—MOHA
