Wuntho, 23 March
A four inch wide tube-well is being dug up by the Department of Rural Development in Alekhon Village, Wuntho Township in Sagaing Region to ensure availability of drinking water in summer.
Officials from the DRD made an inspection tour to the village yesterday. In addition to a tube-well, a water tank and a water treatment facility would be built by a tender winning private company with Ks. 13.85 million of the funds allotted in the fiscal year 2019-2020. The rural water supply task has been about 50 percent finished. Once completed, around 110 locals from 23 households will be able to use the drinking water sufficiently.
10 rural water supply tasks are being carried out in the current financial year in the township under the Union Budget and the local government budget.—Kyaw Myaing (IPRD)
