Authorities in the Chinese province of Hubei say they will remove travel restrictions in the city of Wuhan on April 8.

Airports, railway stations and highways in Wuhan have been closed since January 23 to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

The city had thousands of confirmed cases on a daily basis at the peak of the outbreak. However, there were no new infections for five days from March 18 and only one case on Monday.
