No casualties were reported in a house fire in Paygon Village, YeU Township in Sagaing Region.

The fire broke out in a house of a woman at about 00:30 a.m. on 17 April and the fire is believed to have started from ember in the kitchen. Upon receiving information about the fire, around 45 local firefighters along with two fire engines and one water tanker joined about 100 residents to rush to the scene of fire. They took about 40 minutes to completely put out the blaze.

The flame reportedly torched one house and one hut but no one was injured in the incident. Action has been taken against the house owner named Daw Shwe Mi over fire negligence by the local police.—Moe Thauk (Shwebo)
