One person reportedly died and two others were injured after a over-speeding motorbike crashed into a tree in Minhla Township, Bago Region.

The fatal accident occurred between mileposts 96/7 and 96/8 on the Yangon-Pyay Road near Nyaungnigon Village, Minhla Township at about 6 p.m. on 19 April, according to a source from Minhla’s Myoma Police Station. A motorbike with three people aboard hit a tree beside the road after the motorcyclist lost control.

The motorcyclist identified as Thant Zaw was pronounced dead on the spot and his colleagues sustained severe injuries in the incident. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—Pauk Sa (Minhla)
